Why is this project needed?

Our world is changing and evolving rapidly. And we are finding it difficult to keep up with this change. Pandemics, climate change, local and regional wars, migrations, economic collapses and the food crisis remind us that on standing on the brink of an irreversible process of transformation.

All these negative developments that we are experiencing are having a severe impact on the European continent and on Germany as well as on the whole world. The destination of the large waves of migration resulting from these problems is the country, we live in. Psychological, social, economic and political difficulties caused by migration shake countries to their very foundations. As a result, the migrants and also the people in the receiving countries pay a high price.

At the individual level, we are looking for a way out of the pressures that all these experiences are putting on our family, work, social, psychological and cultural existence. While many of us are out there searching for this solution, we are sacrificing some of us weighed down by life's physical and mental health without knowing what to look for.The play 'Kybele's Daughters' is intended to remind those lost in the modern age to look within themselves should look and that they have the necessary resources to deal with their problems, because someone who has problems with his own self and cannot put his own inner world in order is not able to integrate into society and to To contribute to peace in society. Unfortunately, without peace within, no peace can be made outside.

Being aware of what you want, taking the necessary steps toward that desire, knowing how to overcome the obstacles you face inside and out, and having a strategy in overcoming those obstacles To have is one of the greatest needs of modern man.Just as a lost passenger now needs navigation to find his way, 'Kybele's Daughters' carries the mission of the guide like a navigation system for the seeker in the solution his problems.

In addition, there has recently been a denial of the role of women in society as a whole and an increase in violence against women. The lack of self-confidence and self-esteem in women due to their upbringing and the attitude of society The fact that women earn less than men in the world of work and that there are fewer women in managerial positions than men shows that the inequality is still present in modern life.

Everything in life is based on a balance. Today, the imbalance between men and women is reflected in psychological, social and societal problems throughout society. However, if you look at the history of the world, women have a significant role in the process of the advancement and reconstruction of society. But over time this role was forgotten and the role of women was ignored. While by the 10,000s BC a belief system centered on the mother goddess was dominant, in the Over time, a male-dominated concept of religion prevailed, so that the goddess was forced to leave her throne. With the displacement of the goddess, i.e. 'woman power', social, psychological and political imbalances arose, which were reflected in society as a whole.Experience today unfortunately we are suffering the negative consequences of this change. Mother Earth, that gives birth and nourishes is forgotten, and the ill effects of pollution, the distortion of social roles, and man's detachment from nature have shaken the world. Woman has been stripped of her divine qualities as a warrior and made into a weak commodity.

Psychologist William Moulton Marston, creator of the character Wonder Woman, said: 'Not even girls want to be girls as long as our womanly, feminine stereotype lacks power, strength and power. They didn't want to be delicate, suave, be peace-loving, as good women should be. Even these strong feminine qualities are more and more despised as weaknesses.' Feminine traits such as perseverance, courage, fighting spirit, leadership and self-confidence are said to be masculine traits, and it has become a notion that in order to possess these traits, a woman must deny her femininity and resemble a man.

At the same time, the year-long pandemic and the strain it is putting on society has resulted in schools and businesses closing and families staying together for long periods of time. The stress of keeping children and Parents under one roof and the transformation of the home into a workplace and into a school has led to an increase in violence. While the burden of work in the home has again been borne by women, there has been a noticeable increase in cases of psychological, physical , emotional and sexual violence against women.

In order to rebuild the inner/outer peace, open dialogue and tolerance that we need after Corona, we need culture and arts, especially the unifying role of theatre, which causes empathy for other lives developed. Now all members of society, especially women, need to awaken their inner hero in order to achieve their goals and overcome the internal and external obstacles that stand in their way.To meet these needs and pay attention to them our piece 'Kybele's Daughters' was created, which meets this need with art.
